Chapter 15
Vladimir
I tried not to think about all the shit that had just taken place between myself and Cara, but with her naked body pressed against mine, it was hard to think of anything else. Even after screwing her every which way, I felt myself growing hard. She clearly affected me in a way that no other woman ever had.
âWhat a way to wake up,â I said with a contented sigh.
I hadnât expected to wake up with Cara hoovering her lips over my dick, but I wasnât complaining. Being inside of her tight pussy was like a religious experience.
âDefinitely better than a cup of coffee.â Caraâs soft breath tickled across my chest. âDo you have work today?â
I wanted to say no. Lying in bed with Cara was the closest thing Iâd had to peace in a long time, and I didnât want to spoil that by talking about my âjob.â In every semi-relationship I had, I made sure to keep my personal life separate from my family. It wasnât just because of my father, either. The nature of my work was bloody and deadly, and I didnât want any woman in my life to be part of it.
âVlad?â Cara lifted her head. Her bright green eyes were wide and innocent.
âI have to take care of a few things,â I told her.
Cara bit her bottom lip. I longed to suck it into my mouth, but I didnât. Instead, I began untangling our bodies so that I could get up from the bed. Lying together after sex felt too intimate.
âIs everything okay?â She sat up, covering her delectable breasts with the sheet.
She looked like sheâd been fucked seven ways to Sunday, and my cock longed to join her back in bed. However, my head knew that spending the day fucking was the last thing I needed to be doing.
âFine.â I knew I was being cold, but I wasnât sure what else to do. âI need to get in the shower, but if you want breakfast, Heidi is stopping by later this morning.â
Cara looked disappointed. âI guess Iâll go back to my room and get dressed.â
I nodded.
She grabbed the sheet and scurried off the bed. âAre you sure that everything is okay?â
âI just need to get ready.â
Cara said nothing else before turning and walking out of the bedroom. Watching the sheet slip through the doorway, I couldnât help but feel like shit.
Definitely fucked that up.
Groaning, I headed toward the shower. I hadnât lied to Cara when I said I needed to get to work. I did. I had been working overtime to try and figure out a way to keep her and our baby safe, which was something I was determined to do. I had been so wrapped up in her and the baby that I had ignored other things. That left a power vacuum, which I was sure that my brother had been filling in my absence.
I would love nothing more than to spend all day screwing Cara senseless, but I needed to take care of my responsibilities first.
